Obama vs. Hillary, the experience dilemma

One of Hillary Clinton’s main arguments against Barack Obama is that she is more experienced for the job of US President. Well, if GW can make it happen for two terms, then can’t anyone be experienced to be the US President? But, this line by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd says it all:

Hillary Clinton: “With all due respect,” she told a crowd in Iowa. “I don’t think living in a foreign country between the ages of 6 and 10 is foreign policy experience.”

Maureen Dowd: But is living in the White House between the ages of 45 and 53 foreign policy experience?

Sony cuts Playstation SDK price

After the recent PS3 price cut, Sony has now halved the price of the software development kit which designers require for creating games on the Playstation. With more and more companies shifting focus to develop games for the Wii, looks like things are not looking very good for Sony Playstation. Maybe they should just open source the SDK, but even that might not help Sony at this point as it’s more difficult and expensive to develop games for the PS3.

MSNBC Redesign

MSNBC creative director Ashley Wells gives an inside look at the various design phases the new MSNBC site went through to get to the new design. All that thinking and designer input, and they could not figure out how to get rid of the annoying and absurd menus! But they did think of the option to turn it off, search for “Disable Fly-out”, and click on the link to turn of the annoying flyout menus.

Overall the new design looks good with all the whitespace, but who thought of the show 0 stories, that’s funny! Functionally, probably compact news sites like bbc work much better than news sites with lot of whitespace.
